Kingswood Golf Course is an 18 hole, American style golf course with raised tee’s and plenty of water to keep you on your toes. The course is a total of 6,046 yards and a challenging Par 71. Read the Pro’s handing hints and tips below.
1st Hole – 353 Yards Par 4
Dog leg to the right hole to start, with position off the tee most important. Aim towards the marker post to keep the ball safely in play in the centre of the fairway leaving a mid to short iron approach.
2nd Hole – 420 Yards Par 4
Testing narrow drive to carry the ditch and thread the ball in-between the fairway bunkers, a good drive will leave a fairly easy second shot to the green.
3rd Hole – 192 Yards Par 3
A tough carry from a raised tee over the water combined with a small green makes club selection tricky, the banks surrounding the green can be used to your advantage.
4th Hole – 294 Yards Par 4
A reachable par 4 for the big hitters, with a very well placed fairway bunker capturing many tee shots, good birdie opportunity after a good drive.
5th Hole – 302 Yards Par 4
Pro’s Tip3 wood or long iron from the tee avoiding the fairway bunker will leave an easy approach to the green. Club down one to avoid the rough beyond the green.
6th Hole – 288 Yards Par 4
A reachable par 4 with a good hit, favour the right hand side with the trouble up the left, leaving a good birdie opportunity.
7th Hole – 518 Yards Par 5
Kingswoods longest hole and probably the toughest challenge. A narrow tree lined tee shot provides the first test, the aim to find the fairway. Club selection is the key with second shot ideally leaving you a simple shot to the green avoiding the lake on the right hand side, only the brave to take on the green in 2.
8th Hole – 173 Yards Par 3
A great testing par 3 all carry over water, club selection vital and make sure you take enough club to carry the ditch which runs just short of the green. Par is a very good score on this hole.
9th Hole – 292 Yards Par 4
A mid to long iron off the tee will leave a very testing second to a difficult green, safety and course management is the key to this hole avoiding the lake on the right hand side where a par feels like a birdie!
10th Hole – 358 Yards Par 4
Slight dog-leg to the right, a 3 wood or long iron from the tee to find the middle of the fairway. A good second is required to find the middle of the green avoiding the lake on the right hand side.
11th Hole – 381 Yards Par 4
A good drive required straight at the marker post, the key to this hole is position off the tee. Dog-leg left with the green tucked away in a corner makes it a good test.
12th Hole – 439 Yards Par 4
Once again a good drive needed on the fairway to reach this long par 4 in 2 shots. Drive up the right hand side will take the water out of play and will leave a long second shot to the the green with one more club required.
13th Hole – 304 Yards Par 4
Dog leg to the left with a risk and reward shot over the corner. Big drive to carry the corner to leave a short approach to the green. Play safe with a long iron or 3 wood to the corner, take enough club to be able to view the green.
14th Hole – 143 Yards Par 3
Be sure to analyse the wind on this hole with club selection being very important, short and you will find water, long and you face a tough chip and putt to save par.
15th Hole – 317 Yards Par 4
Once again the tee shot is important to leave and easier approach to the green, longer hitters can hit it over the corner. Safe shot would be 3 wood or long iron over the marker.
16th Hole – 508 Yards Par 5
A good drive up the right hand on this tight driving hole will leave an exciting second shot. Big hit over the corner and new pond to go for the green in 2 or a tricky lay up beside the pond to leave an easy approach to the green.
17th Hole – 210 Yards Par 3
Without a doubt the hardest par 3 on the course and arguably the hardest hole at Kingswood. Raised small target as the green with plenty of club required to reach it, once again a par feels like a birdie.
18th Hole – 475 Yards Par 5
A good tee shot needed to find the centre of the fairway to have a shot at this finishing par 5 in two. Danger lurks on the left hand side of the green with the banking sloping towards the hazard. Favour the right hand side all the way on this hole to avoid the trouble.
